General Hun Manet Describes Helicopter Rope Suspension Technique

PHNOM PENH: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Army, General Hun Manet, made a post on his official Facebook page sharing information on an army tactic that involves dropping soldiers by helicopter directly into the battlefield via a hanging rope, which helps to provide a favorable fighting advantage.

On Tuesday morning, 28 March 2023, General Hun Manet wrote in a post on his Facebook page that the helicopter rope suspension technique is very risky, but that risk cannot be turned into an obstacle to the army's operations. He added that not daring to jump out of the helicopter while administering this tactic will affect the whole operation.

"The safety of others in the helicopter depends on our decision; if we do not dare to jump, it will hinder the mission and the team as a whole, and the longer it takes, the higher the risk to all," he wrote.

General Hun Manet, the future Prime Ministerial candidate for the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), stressed that the success of a mission depends entirely on the courageous, united and responsible operation of all soldiers.

The General shared this post with two photos of himself practicing the helicopter rope suspension technique 10 years ago.
